While studying abroad in Spain, Solandra, a young Dominican-American woman, finds herself alone in the throne room of Queen Isabel and King Ferdinand, whose portraits come to life and force her to relive the traumatic events of the Spanish colonization and exploitation of the Tainos. On her way back, Solandra unpacks an imperialist souvenir: the fetishization of young Native American women and girls.
